Special Immigrant (EB-4)

Fourth preference (EB-4) applicants receive 7.1 percent of the yearly worldwide limit of employment-based immigrant visas. This preference category encompasses a broad array of applicants, including certain foreign reporters, certain religious workers, certain former employees of the U.S. government in the Panama Canal Zone, certain Iraqi and Afghan nationals who have assisted the U.S. government, certain physicians, and certain retired international organization employees.

With limited exceptions, fourth preference (EB-4) applicants must be the beneficiaries of an approved Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, Form I-360. Labor certification is not required for fourth preference (EB-4) applicants.
